SDM College of Engineering and Technology Dharwad provides students assistance and guidance for placements. SDMCET training and placement cell offers soft skills training, aptitude training and industrial orientation training. On average, every year more than 50 companies visit the campus and more than 80% of students are placed. The SDMCET highest package offered in 2022-23 is Rs. 41 LPA. • SDMCET Dharwad sends invitations to the companies. 

• Based on the invitation from the college, companies send the job description details, and recruitment date to the SDMCET placement cell.

• Students have to register with the placement cell of the college in order to attend the recruitment and submit their resumes. 

• The companies that visit the campus give a pre-placement talk to the students to inform them about their vision, mission, values, policies, and job profiles.

• The students have to undergo various screening tests conducted by the companies such as verbal ability, logical reasoning, aptitude, and technical skills.

• The students who clear the tests are shortlisted for the final round of selection which may include technical interviews, HR interviews, group discussions, and presentations.

• The students who successfully clear all the rounds of selection are offered a job by the company and given an offer letter.
