IIT Roorkee Scholarship
Every year lakhs of students apply to get into the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and they have enough academic credentials owing to their performance in high school academics and admission tests. Indian Institute of Technology encourages merit by offering different types of IIT Roorkee scholarships and financial assistance for students who require it or deserve it. IIT Roorkee scholarships are also available for people from different backgrounds and economic conditions and these scholarships are provided from various sources such as government, alumni and industry partners.
There are three types of financial assistance offered to students namely
Fellowships
Concessions
Scholarships
Fellowships: Fellowships are funding programmes that are mainly dedicated to postgraduate students working in areas of research both at the Master and Doctoral levels. The fellowships require the students to avail tuition fee waiver in return for responsibilities such as assistantships.
Concessions: Concession is planned and made available mainly for students in reserved categories (SC/ST with) the following provisions:
50% application fee waiver
Relaxed cut off percentage
Relaxed minimum percentage of marks for admission both at undergraduate and postgraduate level by 5%
No or minimal tuition fee
Exemption in room rent and meals provided
Pocket allowances of Rs. 250 and a monthly scholarship of Rs.1000
Textbooks under textbook loan scheme with a normal security deposit
Eligibility Criteria: The students eligibility where parental income does not exceed the limit prescribed by the Government of India and the gross income level is less than Rs. 2 lakhs per annum.

Non-convocation awards or scholarships are given to current undergraduate and postgraduate students currently in IIT Roorkee with the criteria decided by the donors and the types of awards are

- A2 based on other factors.

Merit-cum-Means scholarship
Merit-cum- means scholarship is offered to a quarter number of students (25%) enrolled in the programme. Bank loans are available and along with scholarships provided to people belonging to general and reserved categories. When scholarships are provided at the postgraduate level, it involves some duties to avail such benefits so that students can earn as well as learn. In the MCM category, scholarships the student gets tuition waiver and monthly allowances.
In case of the general/OBC category, the following factors considered are

Such a beautiful infrastructure of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. The facilities and infrastructure in the department are well-designed. Wi-Fi facilities connect labs and classrooms. The library has a wide range of books. The canteen serves Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian cuisine, providing the best food.

No doubt campus infrastructure is good Wi-Fi working 24x7 due to LAN, there are two lecture hall complex apj block and garlic block in both block we study In each hostel have stationary shop, canteen (day and night) Food quality in mess is average to eat.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the ancient and well-established branches in IIT Roorkee. The placement in mechanical is more than 72% with the rest of the population choosing for higher studies, CAT and UPSC. The average package in Mechanical Engineering is more than 10 Lacs.
